Miyazaki's film 「千と千尋の神隠し｣ (English title "Spirited Away") is the highest-grossing film in Japanese history (Wikipedia), and wildly popular all over the world. It is the first anime film to have received an Oscar reward, which helped it sell in America. I bought a copy of Spirited Away (Region 2) because my Japanese friend wanted a copy of this wildly acclaimed movie. In Japan, this DVD is much more expensive, and does not have the English dub (which she wanted to use to study English), so it was very good for us to find a Region 2 version on eBay. Spirited Away is a great movie with many allusions to Japanese mythology. I love seeing the old monsters and gods walking around in a traditional bathhouse setting! Miyazaki's drawings are lively and colorful; even though this film was created digitally...Studio Chibly did a great job. The English dub is actually not bad...I like the voice of Chihiro (Daveigh Chase), and Lin (Susan Egan)'s parts, though I feel Haku (Jason Marsden)'s voice is a bit too low for a child. Overall, the dub is one of the best I have seen, and very good for young children who do not like subtitles. :) The original Japanese dialogue is fast pace, but as most anime tend to do, uses much more simple Japanese than live action movies or drama do (in my opinion). I like the voices of the Japanese cast. I would recommend this movie to anyone who has an interest in the old gods of Japan, or anyone who likes Miyazaki's film or anime.Read full review
You must watch this before you die :) in my top 10, very engaging and you will fall in love with the amazing characters and creative storyline. Suitable for kids too. I highly recommend.

I watched this film with great expectations, having heard about how good it is for a great many years. Needless to say those expectations were greatly surpassed. The animation is incredible, the characters are interesting and amazingly designed (as well as completely bonkers!), and contains a great story that can appeal to both young kids and adults. But I think the most impressive feat of all is it's portrayal of real-world issues, such as consumerism, our relationship with nature, corporate greed, and forcing young, helpless children into work at a young age. All of these, as well as others, reinforce the film's unique place in animated film history.

Fantastic film for children and adults, my nearly 4 year old grand daughter loved it and myself who had seen it before, thinks it is one of the best childrens animated films, a film about love and a bit of greed, watch it!
