Bought for my girlfriend for christmas, saw a friend's T-10 and was really inpressed with photo quality, large lcd screen on the back and gorgeous looks. Went for the T-50 because it had the larger 3 inch screen and a better flash. First picture taken was of a TV (on) in pitch black from 6 feet away and you'd be hard pressed to know there wasn't another light source in the room. Very impressive. Colour reproduction is vivid and accurate, it takes very fast photos - much faster than my own pentax which the sony makes look mediocre at best. With 2gig memory card it can take over a thousand pics or 25 minutes of continues shooting at 640 x 480. Sound reproduction when played back through proper speakers and not those onboard the camera is also suprisingly good. Battery life is excellent (just like most sony portable devices). Long range shots appear to me to be more detailed than other cameras in the range. I spent a good amount of time researching other cameras both online and asking a number of different sales assistants in a number of shops, the Canon range seemed to receive high praise but i compared similar photos and preferred the sony. Canons seem to suffer from poor barrel distortion which i hated... Overall, i'm blown away with the quality, the feel of the camera, the touch screen desplay is easy to navigate and has great colour to it, pictures are fast which is so important for capturing the moment and it's hands down the best looking camera on the market - no arguments. Full marks Sony...Read full review
I'm quite new to digital cameras and wanted my first one to be the best I could get. I done my homework and every time I checked cameras out it came to one conclusion - that the Sony DSC-T50 was the best out there. My first impression was on how small and stylish it is - I couldn't really believe that all the features are crammed into such a small camera. It has all the features you would expect from a digital camera and the pictures it takes are amazing. The 3" touch screen is excellent and on it's own is a great way to view your snaps. Showing them on TV is better though, as the phone has some excellent slide shows in which you can add your own music to play alongside them. It also records video brilliantly as well - i've recorded better video's on this camera than I have seen on much more costly camcorders. The camera comes bundled with all the PC software and connectors so you don't need to worry there either. If the camera had a downside it would be that a carry case is a must to protect it from scratches and it's a shame it doesn't come bundled with a 'proper' one (instead of the lightweight 'baggie' which is included). I would also recommend buying a decent photo printer as well to really do your snaps justice. I'm really nitpicking however! In summary, this is an excellent camera that I would recommend to anyone and at the price it is generally listed for on eBay, it's excellent value for money as well.Read full review
I bought this camera for my nephew as a present. I decided to try it myself to make sure it works fine as I bought it from e-bayer. I already own a Fuji Finepix S20 Pro. To my surprise, the quality if this Sony Camera is so good that I can't really tell much difference between the two cameras.Mind you, I'm no expert in photography. Without reading the instruction, I managed to get this camera up and running in no time. Its features are user friendly and with rechargable battery, you don't keep on buying four AAs type that frequently (the S20 Pro). I bougth extra battery from another e-bayer and the camera already came with 2Gb memory which is handy. This camera is highly recommended to anyone including a beginner like me. Its beautifully designed whethe black or silver, and I'm sure my nephew will cherish it dearly.Read full review
Initially I was very impressed with my new Sony. Worth the extra money I thought. Screen is big and clear and handling feels natural with most buttons where you expect. Output indoors with flash can't be faulted - very accurate exposure even close up. Without flash, it can produce an image in very poor light but the results seem rather manipulated when compared with a friends Fuji camera in same lighting. My images are like those 'brightened by photoshop' rather than actually capturing as much detail. When showing off my Sony to my friend I also had to admit to a couple of other failings compared to it's cheaper rival. The Fuji is quicker - MUCH Quicker! and the screen up date is smoother too. In bright light, there is little to choose between the two cameras, except that I did mis-frame a couple of action shots waiting for the DSC to respond. I was left feeling a little dissapointed with my purchase after comparing the two, but would still rate the Sony very highly and certainly prefer it's looks and handling to the Fuji. But I would suggest buyers compare before parting with your cash as it seems some of the lesser well known makes are close on Sony's heals and have the edge technically in soem departments!Read full review
