This is the fourth Western Digital Caviar Hard drive I have bought. I have been very impressed with the three I have bought previously. But for this project I needed a much larger disc than previously, so I opted for the WD2500JB. It performs very well and up until now I have no complaints. I will happily buy this product again.

I didn't know when I bought this if it would actually be compatible with my computer, as I have a Philips Iqon, & know from experience & reading reviews that they have been troublesome. The original hard drive was only an 80GB & burnt out & nothing could be saved from it. I bought this as I know nothing about hard drives & it was the only one that had the WESTERN DIGITAL CAVIAR name ( which the original one had )& hoped it would be ok. I had it installed for me,& have had no trouble from it. It has a much bigger memory than the original one, so is perfect for everything we want to save, & I am extremely pleased with it. The only problem I have had is that I have lost the sound, which isn't a fault of the hard drive, but with the company I bought the computer from. They did not include a set up disc with the package, so once you lost anything & put a new drive in, you couldn't get it back. So no sound, but loads of extra GB. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new hard drive & have a compatible system.Read full review
You can't go wrong with Western Digital drives - superb performance and affordable prices. They're extremely reliable and I really put them through their paces with video editing - I have never had one fail on me yet!
The hard drive works well and is better than the one I had to replace. the old one would cause continuous problems and I had to repair it many times. This one hasn't stopped working once. I would definitely buy it again (if I had to).
