This is my second LaserJet 4000TN and I love them. These are some of the most rugged printers I have ever used. 200,000 pages is where these start to give out and then it's time for a rebuild or in this case I buy a refurbished and go on with my life. I have tried the other new HP printers they have and most of them are now junk. These can't be repaired, don't last or the toner is really expensive. The only time these printers will struggle is with a large PDF at 1200 x 1200. It will take a long time to print so unless you need that resolution drop the resolution down to 600 x 600 or install the PCL 5 (Instead of the usual PCL 6 driver) driver and go with 300 x 300. Text will be fine but your graphics may (will) be dithered. I print mostly plain text with small graphics and the speed is good. Economy is excellent as I am not buying 40 dollars ink that last a 100 pages. A 27X toner cartridge is about $40 and I get 5,000+ pages out of it. Install a duplexer and you can save on paper too! A duplexer takes about 1 minute to install and you can buy good used ones here on eBay. This review is for the printer refurbished by midwestdynamics. The refurbishment they did was excellent. I have had this printer for a week and I have over 2,000 pages on it and not one jam or misfeed. Get an HP 4000 series printer and you'll not be sorry.Read full review

the supplier cancel the order and we get the refund. No deals at all, but seems joking by the supplier. we make the deal in the morning and pay in the morning, several hours later, they cancel the order. waste of my time.

It replaced two printers of the same model both refused to handle the paper trays properly It is a regular fault on this model it stems from a failed transistor on the paper size identifier circuit board combined with a sticking relay, paper feed actuator, which then delivers two sheets when only one is called for. The replacement machine does not have these faults (yet) and works fine. I am keeping lots of spare parts (fuser assembly and laser scanner) from the old machines. The print quality is excellent ( clean the photo drum with IPA) ( it does not come with a drum/ toner assembly that is extra. My old ones are good. I did have to swap out the ethernet card so as to retain the machine network address.

These printers have been around a while but they are real workhorses. 65,000 page monthly duty cycle and 17ppm printing. You can buy printers that are a little faster but they cost a fortune, I just bought a BRAND NEW HP 1600 color laser and even in black only it will only print 8ppm. I'm a Notary Signing Agent so I need a printer with speed and the ability to print plain black and white legal sized paper. I have had no problems hooking it up to my fairly new computer running Windows XP Pro and configuration is pretty easy. Manuals and drivers are still available for download on the HP website.
I work at a major financial services company where there are many HP Laserjet printers of varying models and ages that continue to churn out page upon page of printed materials with little to no down time. Whether its an HP Laserjet 4i, 5i, 4000xx, 4050xx, or 4100xx I have found the HP Laserjets to be dependable workhorses. The features offered with the HP Laserjet 4000tn that appealed to me are the low operating cost per page, two trays for either letter or legal paper plus an an auto feed capability and the ability to easily network the printer through a home desktop switch. The particular unit that I purchased had a low page count, came with a 30 day warranty, was available for an extended warranty and was being offered by an eBay seller that had a 100% satisfaction rating.
