Works perfectly to pep up an older HP G60 laptop that was having overheating issues. I figured while I was that deep in the case, I might as well upgrade the processor since I could do so affordably. This chip, new silver heat paste, a copper "pad" for the graphics chip, and a thorough cleaning of the heat sink did the trick. This CPU actually runs cooler than the old CPU before it clogged with dust/lint. I couldn't be happier; a genuine bargain!

I have a Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5974 laptop, that came with a SI-42 Sempron single core CPU. If you are considering upgrading the CPU in yours, DO IT!! It's like a new PC. Very snappy, and the temps are actually LOWER! 50 deg C at idle, and 70 deg C under load. The Sempron idled at 70 deg C. and 90 deg on load. The only thing I regret is Now I wish I had got the ZM-88 instead. It was 30 dollars more, for 2.5 MHz so I just couldn't justify the extra money vs. performance.
Its insanely fast for the $13 I paid, and I doubt the ones that cost 4x as much would be any better, but don't expect an i3 at this late date in its life. I went from a single core budget processor to this one, and it took the computer from completely unusable to a decent machine. I even manage to play WoW on it on low settings. 4GB Ram, GeForce 8200m
Not a big fan of AMD, but I needed to upgrade my friend's X2 2.2. This worked well and provided about a 10% performance increase. No issues with compatibility.
The zm-84 is an older but reliable processor.
