After testing this product with a variac to control input between 0 and 140 VAC, I've discovered some very annoying issues with 110/120V operation - it doesn't work. I also note that the original description says it will run from 24 VDC and it does NOT. That is an ordering option as I'm now finding out. I found that with the included K thermocouple and powered up, it wants at least 115V to provide a good reading. Below about 110V you will get strange screen messages. While the manual says it should work to 100V, that is only a minor annoyance. However down around 110V-120V range the reading from the K probe will be LOW. I've seen from -5C to 25C with 25C real temperature. But the news gets worse. Hooked up the SSR and when off it works as described - when ON, the minimum input to the unit rises to 125 VAC - in which case now at 120V your K temperature reading is now randomly changing somewhere between -5 and 25C. I tended to see about 10C so the output stays on. This means it fails UNSAFE for 110/120V heating operaton- the outut will go on, the temperature input will drop, and it will think it needs to say on. It is a bad positive feedback loop. I do NOT recommend this at 110/120V. I would rate less stars but the title of the description says 220V (though the manual and text says otherwise). Other notes, yes the manual included is useless, download it from the web. The remaining items seem good, nice probe, SSR and heat sink, but be warned no screws were included to mount it to the SSR- not a big deal, but worth noting.Read full review

AVOID - get one of the more popular brands of this controller. This comes with one sheet of documentation, in CHINESE. I can't find anything for this particular model on the internet, as it is different than the more popular brands. For thos brands, there are Youtube videos and manuals in ENGLISH online. This one is wired differently than those, and I suspect the programming may be different.

The thermocouple and controller do not appear to be matched as the temperature displayed is only about 20% of the actual temperature measured with a non-contact IR thermometer. It is not a fahrenhight, centigrade mistake either as the molten lead confirms. The thermocouple has no markings to confirm its' type. As long as the controller will maintain a relatively constant temperature, it should serve my purpose. It would be conveinient if it displayed the temperature accurately however.

This product was easy to set up and it works perfectly. I would however recommend a little better documentation.

The unit looks like it will work well... the instructions are a bit confusing since I am not an electronics student. So I have not completed the assembly yet but believe I can in the near future.
