I bought a set of these to go with my lathe that I got about the same time. I've made several holes in both steel, bronze, brass, aluminium and plastic with these. They do a good job. 15mm can be drilled in aluminium straight, without pilot drilling. I've not used all of the sizes, but all the ones I have used have worked fine. In plastic, they tend to "pull out", but that's a problem that comes from being "too sharp" - the material is so soft that the drill digs into the surface - if you want to drill a lot of plastic, regrind to make the cutying edge a bit less aggressive would probably work better - my workaround is to just feed the drill in quicker and run the lathe a bit slower.
