For as long as I can remember (more than 30 years) the longevity of mechanical cable releases has been poor. This is, quite predictably being Chinese-made, able to go one better: even worse than anything I’ve seen before; Flimsy, crude, lightweight and, if you picked one up in a shop you’d put it back down again immediately. If it doesn’t actually damage the thread on your camera it will last for an outing or two, at best. Avoid.
