All in all, an excellent microphone for the price. Great value. The Micon adapters you can purchase for these (at around $25 a piece) make this the most versatile lavalier microphone on the market. The mic is very sensitive so it has a nice signal to noise ratio. You don't have to gain it up very high in order to get nice, clean signal. Also, I have had no issues with explosive plosives or hissy sibilances even without using the pop-screen. As I have come to expect from R0DE, the case the mic comes in is rigid, tough and waterproof. Only 2 minor issues with the mic: 1) The pop-screen that comes with it is a little flimsy, and will likely come apart no matter how gentle you are with it. I would recommend getting a package of spares if you expect to use the screen a lot. 2) The sound quality is just a little less beefy than you might get from a more expensive mic like the Tram TR-50, but it's on par with my Sanken COS-11D which is nearly twice the price. The Sanken sounds just a touch fuller (really almost unnoticeable to the untrained ear), but the R0DE appears to have a better signal to noise ratio.Read full review
I bought my first Rodelink Filmmaker about 6 months ago, and have been so impressed by its performance that I just picked up my third. So easy to set up, incredibly clean sound, and absolutely no cross-channel or other types of interference, due to its use of digital technology. And given the fact that the FCC won't be able to reallocate the frequency it uses (and turn a whole generation of wireless devices into doorstops) with this device, buying this is a no-brainer.

I bought an adapter to make this mic work and it works just fine. The sound quality is very good for the many video interviews I do. Very happy with this Rode.

Pros: No adapters needed. No batteries needed. Well built. Travels well. Sounds good. Cons: VERY high gain, will clip signal when capturing loud talent with iPhone core audio (iOS 6). This microphone works very well -- the only thing I recommend is to purchase the Rode app because it minimizes hiss. It has some settings like gain, de-essing, compression to tweak the sound. Overall I am very pleased w/ the microphone it works as advertised. Please note I am using this on a recent iPod and purchased the additional app from the iTunes App Store for around $5.00.
