Got this recently as a second hand unit but in perfect working order. It took me a while to work out how to charge the unit after I left it switched on doing a test at home as the device did not come with its manual. Once I worked out that the USB connector on the cer mount is only for data transfers / updates and not for charging. I discovered there is a USB connector under the battery cover which enables out of the cradle charging. Only used it a couple of times, once in the early hours where I found that the display brightness was was great - just right to see what it was telling me and not so bright it was distracting. The harness comes with all the connections for helmets connection and bluetooth if you have a wireless helmet unit. Great purchase for the motorcyclist that needs to get places without a mapRead full review

I have a BMW 1200GS and was going to buy the BMW Navigator sat nav. BMW want £570 for the unit plus another £70 for a fitting kit. The BMW unit does not come with a car kit so I decided to buy the Zumo 660, which is the unit the BMW system is based on. Managed to buy for less than £399 on eBay. Very easy to fit to my bike and easy to see when riding. We have just come back from a tour of the Spanish Pyrenees. The Garmin got us everywhere we wanted to go. Out in the open counrty you cant fault it. Go into a city like Barcelona and it goes slightly downhill. When you come to a complicated junction the unit cant refresh itself fast enough which means you have to rely on good old common sense and read the vroad signs (or do as we did, pull over and wait for the refresh!) One brillint feature especially at 11pm in a big city is the hotel finder. We looked at the list and found an Ibis 2 mikles away. You just touch the screen with the hotel you want and the Zumo directs you there. Works even out in the wilds, we found a real rustic french hotel on the way back to Calais that we would never have found otherwise. Would I buy another one? Yes.Read full review
I write this review from Turkey having traveled from the UK on my bike with the aid of this product. It's worked faultlessly and even survived falling off at 30mph, my fault, didn't clip it in the cradle correctly. It's a real 'must have' device especially traveling through foreign cities. Lane assist is a useful add on although not all junctions show up. Being able to plan in advance and download the route has worked well although once the trip was started I did deviate quite a bit at times but easy to get back on route. Beware of the shortest route option though, it does what it says and you can find yourself routing through towns you have no intention of seeing and getting caught up in traffic. That said any sat nav is going to to that. Be useful if an 'avoid towns' option could be developed to route via any town by passes that may exist. Lots of functions and information easily to hand/finger. Points of interest being very useful for finding fuel stations or at least the distance to the next one. Hotels and camp sites also easily found. I'd give this product 5 stars.Read full review

I bought this specifically for Bike European trip and was initially pleased with al the features and fitting kit etc. Then I was surprised to find that the Traffic avoidance feature does not work when it's fitted to the bike. Ok although dissapointing bikes can carve through traffic. I did want to use this in my car as well though as £400+ is a lot to pay just for a bike SatNav. Then I find an additional GTM21 cable is needed to accept the traffic information - OK.... so I search and find that they are no longer available. An email to Garmin tech support eventually tells me that they are not available but they'll send me one for free - bonus - or so I thought. Five weeks on and I still haven't got the lead. The SatNav sits unused as I continue to use my £80 Nuvi in the car with a lead that works. Garmin customer support are useless and take ages to reply. I borrowed a lead from a German colleague and that doesn't work either - Garmin claim the GTM21 lead is country specific - strange my Nuvi works everywhere in Europe? They claim they have sent two GTM21 leads to me - strange nothing else sent to me ever gets mislaid..?Read full review
