Old school, Windows XP age laptop from the world-famous Latitude range. Still working after 12-13 years! Just wondering how many of the shiny, plasticky pieces of junk sold in "major retailers" today will still be going in 12 years time?!... Bought this one for it's parallel port, which now is obsolete and not found in new machines. Solid built, decent performance (especially with Centrino 2GHz processor), memory upgradeable to 2GB, WiFi etc., so still OK for basic jobs. Modular constructions and interchangeable parts with other Dells mean plenty of spares available and very easy maintenance.
If you pick up a good D610 you wont be disappointed, don't expect long battery life, or cutting edge graphics and you'll be fine. The hinges to the lids can be a bit sloppy some play, but overall these are solidly built laptops. Keyboard is outstanding and the screen is longer vertically as opposed to new laptop screens which are wider so speared sheets are a breeze to work on.
the laptop I brought was for my mother in law as she can't move around much so I thought a laptop would be better than a desk top pc the reason why I brought it was cos of the price I liked the product I have no dislikes about it the product.
I wanted a cheap laptop for a kid so he can play games and watch cartoons. But like most kids he's not kind to his computer, he knocks it around an spills liquid. This laptop ticks all the boxes for me. Excellent machine for the money. Unlike most cheap PCs it works and doesn't come with faults galore.
