I recently decided to build myself a file server using some spare parts I had laying around and needed a new socket AM3 processor. After some online research, I decided that this was the ideal processor as it was more than good enough for the job in mind. It was fast enough to stream HD quality video using my motherboard's onboard graphics and yet had a very low TDP to keep down power consumption as much as possible. I wouldn't like to contemplate running this in a gaming rig as it's only single core with a low amount of cache but for the application I bought it for it's perfectly capable. For gaming or even general Windows usage there are dual and even quad core processors for not much more money than this. However using onboard graphics, an Arctic Cooling Freezer 64, a Seasonic PSU and 2 Akasa smoky grey case fans I now have an almost silent file server/media streamer!Read full review
A good single core CPU with 2.8GHz of processing power from AMD. Also this CPU comes with Chip cooler and fan and computer sticker. 7/10 CPU
Ok this little single core cpu is great! and can be unlocked to a dual core with a supported motherboard.
good budget cpu for basic computing tasks, can possibly be unlocked to become a dual core athlon but is not a guarantee!!
