This is an older model so isn't as slick and user freindly BUT it's a good solid tool for storing masses of music on. I like the feel of it and the way the buttons light up. It took me a while to work out you don't press the actual wheel. The wheel is purely for scrolling unlike the later models. It's a bit like a trustworthy cart horse rather than a flashy pony. The battery on mine is not brilliant purely I think because I bought it second hand and my individual iPod has had to have it's battery replaced. But it lasts long enough for me personally. I won mine for under £30 and I am really pleased with it and it's value.
A design classic. The first and then abadones touch- sensitive, backlit button ipod. Very classy, still futuristic gadget. I like the character set (pix chichago), easy to use as every apple product.
Still decent for what it was made for, in my opinion it is one of the coolest looking ones ever made.

Love the 3rd Gen., probably the best looking iPod IMO, backlit keys just scream early 2000s Can’t charge it by USB unlike the 4th Gen. onwards so make sure you’ve got a FireWire charger or suitable dock!

Its been years since I've seen a 3rd Gen iPod let alone used one, although it is a bit on the large side it is a necessary sacrifice for the cool-factor. The london tube is inundated with ipod touches and iphones, using the ipod for the first time on the way to work garnered stares from everyone around me. definitely worth the money!
