Just the tool for those soldering jobs that need more heat than the average tool can produce. Heats up quickly too. Needs care in use because of the high tempertures involved. I found the stand provided rather flimsy and got very hot. I made my own insulated one. I also made a collar to prevent fingers accidently touching the hot tubular part. All in all I still believe it's a very handy tool.

I had to replace the flat head tip on this with a pointy tip as it just wouldn’t tin and get hot enough. You need instant response and after a while it wasn’t delivering. With my new tip it now delivers. The plastic handle near the iron also got too hot. The whole tool is too long to sit comfortably in a iron holder. Disappointing as I like Sealy tools. The 40-80 watt is a better design and has had a few years of constant use.

Frankly I found the iron ill balanced, and it needs a better grip. I know this as it slipped from my hand the first time I used it, and it landed on the fingers of my other hand just above where I was holding the solder.

good value and quick delivery...much better than my old 40w iron....just have to remember not to leave the iron on the joint for too long......the extra heat allows you to "puddle" solder on the tip to drop into a joint. A quick and much stronger joint than waiting for the heat to get through to all the parts as with a 40w iron...

Bought this as the usual 30w 40w just wouldn't melt solder and made hard work of automotive electrical work this one works efficiently even outdoors on cold days should have bought it earlier and saved time and my partner having to listen to me whinging on about lead free solder having too high a melting temp
