A great well written play

slightly dogeared but as described in the blurb, in good enough condition for directing the play as i will probably split it to put in a folder.
The Crucible is a terrifying trip through the dark days of the Salem Witch trails. Beneath this cover-up of the supernatural, people make use of this for their own selfish puposes.... either to remove one's repressed guilt accumulated in the stright, religious Salem society, or as a quick way to make financial gains. The book also explores social themes such as that of the relationship between the individual and his society, inner torment and the struggle for justice.. What impressed me most is the way Arthur Miller has made this story so relevent, even today. Next is the way he emerses the reader within the swirls of his words, bringing the reader up precarious climaxes and jerky twists. A truly thought-provoking book worth a few more reads then one.
