I bought this copy of 'The Time Traveller's Wife' for my daughter-in-law because she's never read it, never met Henry and Clare and never experienced the exquisite complexities of the plot. And I think she should. As a book, this is a fabulous story. As a film, it was much less so, as your head has no budget and can imagine Henry's mother's accident with no troublesome filming problems. It's one of my very favourite books that I can read again and again and still feel a sense of the loss of friends when I get to the end. Debbie may not like it. But, if she does, I'll try her on 'Moon Tiger'. If you haven't tried reading this book, buy a secondhand copy and try it? If you don't like it, you can always sell it again on eBay or give it to Oxfam, but if you give Henry, Clare and their friends a decent chance, it's a fair bet you may like them as much as I do.Read full review
