The PS3 Super Slim is supposed to be an upgrade from the last version of the PS3 but the only upgrade is the Hard drive. The picture quality is the same as the last version and so is game play but with this version the disc drive make a lot more noise plus the cheap plasic box looks and feels cheap compaired to the last version but the optical output is on par with the last version which is poor but most will not be playing music through the optical cable into a dac and will be using the HDMI for movies and games which is on par with the last version but the picture quality is ok but not good as a cheap Blu Ray player gives a much better picture. So the last version was better but hard to find a new one these days to play PS3 games as Sony decided not to allow PS3 game to be played on the PS4 which is just a way to make money as they want you to download old games to pay again for those games people bought and liked on the PS3 and really there was no reason for this as the PS4 could play PS3 games if they let it.....Read full review

I've had playstation consoles from the very first ps1 and have to say this is the cheapest feeling one of them all.when ps3 first came out you felt like you were getting a quality built console.There were plenty of ports,it was backward compatible and it had that solid weighty feel to it.I did read up on this model before it was released and i'm sure it stated that it would be cheaper to attract more people to ps3.I think it would be easier to accept the cheap build quality if it had come out at around £150.At the end of the day your still getting a ps3 that runs quiet and has quality games and a decent bluray player built in.Just hope sony go back to quality build for ps4.
dual purpose blue ray dvd+games and internet access easy to set up, easy to use, connected internet wireless ok skylanders adventures enjoyable, good graphics but difficult to play,but ai am 70+ and my grandsons will show me. football and sport activity games are fun using the light controllers. I bought this as a Xmas gift for my two boys (aged 9 and 4) so I could get back my own PS3!!! I've got the original 60GB which I've had for nearly 5 years, the new one is significantly smaller and considerably quieter. Very easy to set up and use, we've got plenty of PS3 games and the kids already knew how to use it. Only gripe is that it didn't come with a HDMI cable. Not good from Sony who could probably source a cable for a few pence.... This is a HD gaming console so it was disappointing it didn't come with the relevant cable.
