The first two films have long been considered the best films in the trilogy and after rewatching it, I have to agree. That said there's nothing wrong with the third film but I suppose coming so late after the first two it lost something in the continuity needed to really bring the films together and offer a satisfactory conclusion to a fantastic story. The depth of the characters, the overall storyline and that there are some unforeseen twists and reversals of fortune for the Corleone family keeps you entertained and keeps you guessing as to what will happen next.
