As a person in their late 50's I well remember these vehicles parked on corners in various streets around London where I grew up and in Portsmouth where I moved when a teenager, and later to Nottingham when I was at work.. They were a long lasting vehicle and were in service with Post Office telephones, who became BT right up to the late 80's when Dodge stopped making them. I drove a minibus version of these, and with the front wheels under you, they felt odd when driving around corners! I just had to have on my rail layout, even though its not the right period - and I am very pleased with the look of the model, it is like the real thing.
