I've been having a lot of fun with my D850 and this lens. Set the camera to Interval Timer Shooting, with a picture taken every 10 seconds. Wander round with the camera held down by my side, manual focus, aperture of f8 and shutter at 1/800. With focus set at the right distance most of what comes out is in focus and just gives a bit more reach than the 20mm lens I had previously used. Natural looking people shots give a good feel for a town market day as the lens is very inconspicuous even though the camera itself is bulky.

One of the sharpest Nikon lenses I've ever used. It allows you to take ultra wide on FX format cameras (i.e. 24mm) and wide on DX format cameras (i.e. 35mm). Never regretted buying one. It would be worth considering getting an autofocus (AF) one. However, if you can't afford the AF, MF works just as well once you get used to it. The optics on this lens is superb. Definitely recommended lens for any Nikon enthusiast. 5/5 for picture quality.
annother great nikon lens,well preserved

Read lots about this lens. Bought one at great price. Very impressed. Pros: Light weight. Small size. Sharpness throughout aperture range. Speed. Auto focus speed. Price. Cons: None that I can think of. This is a non "D" lens. I'm really pleased with the results. I am using it on a D300 would be even better on a full frame body as it becomes 36mm on a cropped sensor. You could consider the 20mm for cropped sensor bodies but big price difference.
