This cd, Voices of the Valley - Memory Lane, is an eclectic mix of songs that will jog your memory, they cover old classics like Ferry 'cross the Mersey, and Hey Jude. Your memory is then taken back to the oubreak of War, to listen to the forces sweetheart Dame Vera Lynn sing We'll meet again, and The white Cliffs of Dover. Religeous works such as Morte Criste and Nearer My God To Thee, featuring the Choirs Conductor Ann Atkinson, then a collection of traditional Welsh Aires, this combined with a brilliant rendering of Land of Hope and Glory with the band of the Coldstream Guards. Alltogether a rousing performance by this world renound Male Voice Choir, who were formed in 1947, and have been singing for over 60 years, and came to fame 4 years ago, when they were given a 3 cd contract by Universal, their popularity, and rise to fame was so quick, and the sales of cd's were better than expected, Decca then asked the Choir to release another cd, and that cd was Memory Lane. I for one hope that the Choir will be releasing another cd next year, brilliant music, beautifully sung, sympathetically arranged and a must for any good cd music collection.Read full review
