I have quite a severe case of grinding my teeth while I sleep. I bought these month tray guards to wear during the night, to help protect my teeth when I'm grinding them. I normally buy my night guard from the dentist. If I purchase it through the NHS it costs me approx £200, however if I buy it straight from the manufacturer (through the dentist) it costs me £80. The quality of these mouth tray guards is pretty similar to the ones I get from the dentist. However these ones aren't moulded to fit my teeth, like the ones from the dentist, instead they are just flat trays. This means I have to kind of hold it down over my bottom teeth using my upper jaw. When I first started using them instead of my usual night guard, I found them really uncomfortable, even to the point of making me gag a few times. However I remember feeling exactly the same when I first started using the night guard from the dentist. I've been using these for about a month now, and I'm not sure if it's because the trays have starting to slightly mould to the shape of my teeth, or because I've just got used to wearing them, but they feel completely normal when I wear them now. I do, however, think they encourage me to grind my teeth, as where I have to hold them down in place, it makes me start clenching my teeth, which then causes me to grind my teeth. Although I have ground my teeth every night for the past few years, so it doesn't really matter. I find the best way to wear them is to press one tray down really hard over my bottom teeth. Then close my mouth to a point that holds the tray in place. Once I'm asleep I start grinding my teeth, which then keeps the guard in place all night. The night guards I get from the dentist typically last for about a year, although they are quite bashed up by the time I get a new one. I've been using these mouth trays for about a month, and they seem to be of similar quality, so will probably last for the same amount of time. Overall I think these are definitely worth a try for the price. If you don't like wearing them, or just prefer the ones from the dentist, then you've only lost a couple of pounds. Whereas if you like them, your saving yourself at least £78 a year - amazing.Read full review

Do not buy despite why any other review says, these do not mould in to the shape of your teeth. The ‘rubber’ melts when placed in hot water but unlike standard ‘plastic’ retainers, these do not mould to the shape of your teeth when placed in the mouth, this being due to the material used. The shield just shrinks, leaves a small outline of the teeth and nothing more.

Left a smalll imprint on bottom but does not mound around teeth and gums. Not worth 1p never mind a pound. Disappointed
