Stunning mid-range and treble, excellent bass reflex 8 inch driver, very little colouration from the very large cabinets, typically unfatiguing British 70's sound, very studio like and have a lovely presence and image. All in all for what they go for these days, I would say well worth the money. If you are looking for "boomy" bass, these are not for you, go for an eltax or something like that, but if you are interested in true reproduction of sound these are for you. Bare in mind, they are 4-8 Ohms, and caparing them to a pair of Bang and Olufsens I own which are also 4-8 Ohms speakers, I would say they lean toward the 4 Ohm mark, so you will need a decent amplifier to run them properly, and give them justice.

Having owned a pair of these and a pair of 44's much as these are very very good speakers they don't get close enough to the 44's to justify the almost identical price tags. Bass extension is lacking from these compared to the 44's and the mid range isn't quite as up front as with the 44's. Still a very good speaker and i wouldn't put anyone off buying a pair but they're the milk whereas the 44's are the cream. Now to find a pair of 66's at a decent price........

The Celestion Ditton 22 is a compact 3-way loudspeaker, which belongs to the Ditton range, and as such, offers a higher sensitivity than the plastic coned "UL" series manufactured by the same company. The Ditton 22 has a sealed box enclosure, the low and the mid frequencies are handled by two pulp-cone units, the former 200mm and the latter 100mm in diameter. The treble is handled by a 25mm fabric dome. All the drive units are Celestion's own manufacture, with the relatively simple crossover. The speakers to my ears produce a great rich sound and handle volume well. i am a big fan of 70s speakers and these are a great buy without having to fork out the big money.
