This kit is a wonderful representation of the Mosquito. The tooling is all new, being a recent addition to the Airfix Range of Super Kits. The detail is superb and there are even commercially available extras to add even more detail. The finished model is large, much larger than say the 1/24th scale Spitfire, so have a lot of display room available. A novice modeller may find it a challenge, although their work will be worthwhile.

Rather a disappointment, plastic soft and many smaller parts very fragile. Undercarriage very weak it may be scale but the slightest knock and it was broken. If you are going to buy, consider the aftermarket metal undercarriage and 303 guns(the plastic ones are very vulnerable). With a lot of time and care it make an impressive model but will need a display case when finished. 07/03/19 WARNINGLast night I got a small amount of paint on the Canopy tried to clean it off with Humbrol paint thinners and it fogged, ruined the model might as well put it in the bin!

Not made this kit yet. Looking over it, make sure you’ve plenty of space once it’s built. Mouldings look crisp, decals are good and instructions are clear. BUT for a kit of this size and price, you’ll need to buy seatbelts, and the instrument panel construction, with regards decals is nonsensical, as the decals are, according to the instructions, applied to the front face of the clear part. Overall, looks like a very good kit, but not as good as the 1/32 Tamiya Mossie

What a whopper! Its huge. I have had mine on display on a table in my living room over 2 years now, our cat carefully striding over it on many occasions... it has very good detail in my opinion, and yes, there are a few very small fragile parts that can cause swearing if accidentally snapped, but if you're good with super glue and a magnifying glass, you can get away with it nicely. Just be very careful and use a very sharp knife. A couple of gripes would be poor fitting engine panels if you want to alternate display or none displayed engines, the outer wing flaps have no hinges so need to be modified or glued into place. Most puzzling of all is the cockpit door, it's either glued open or glued closed, and yet the door handle is operable. I wanted my door to open and close, more craftyness was employed. As for fragile undercarriage and such, it's survived 2 years of my wife and cat and in that time has only dropped one of its bombs on the table, due to my lack of gluing it properly...Read full review

I have only inspected the contents of the box as I won't be building it before the spring. What I can see is a high quality model which I am very much looking forward to building.
