This amp sold at around the $100. range when it was in production, and still sells in the same range (as of 2015) now that it's discontinued. As others have said, the distortion channel sounds bad so leave it alone. But the tube in the amp's circuitry does magic, especially in the upper volume ranges. Try turning the amp up and the guitar down, for good tone at lower volumes. It's called a practice amp but I've used it in small to mid-sized clubs with great results. Patching an extension speaker into the available socket defeats the on-board speaker, but the amp will deliver surprisingly better low-end through a bigger diameter extension. I keep one in every city I spend time in. I recommend buying this amp, again and again and again.

Bought as a practice/backup amp. I sometimes run thru a 2 x 12 speaker cabinet for more "horsepower". Like: decent sound for a small amp...can be used with pedals for more diverse tones & effects. Dislike: avoid the "dirty" channel...as with most small solid state amps, the distortion is muddy. I bought the Tube 12A (12 watt, 1-8" speaker with a 12AX7 tube in the circuit) as new old stock. These are discontinued, but occasionally found on Ebay, etc.
I got it this amp as a use used item. I was encourage to buy this small model for my acoustic guitar practice session. Though I got this as a used amp, it is still doing like new. You can save a lot of money by buying this rather than choosing to buy other high end amps like Fenders, Ampeg and Peavy brands.
