Once you're used to it and work out how to use the focus to see close up, (or REALLY close up! lol), these are very good. Especially for the price. What I found is the more, or closer, you want to magnify something, the closer you have to put the lens to it and then use the focus wheel to get the image nice and clear. (And. believe me, you can get a really good clear image) Takes a little getting used to, SO DONT GIVE UP ON IT! I got the software for it from their (Veho) Website. Just google: "Veho discovery usb microscope software download" Works just fine on my Windows 7 64bit laptop. **Make sure you get the right version** as there are two different types. (One for the 200x and one for 400x magnification) You can also adjust the strength of the LED lights from off to high. Overall a great inexpensive gadget. Have a look at what your facial skin looks like at 400x magnification!! YUCK!! lol Recommended.. 8^)Read full review

It took me a little while to realise that there are just two choices of magnification, 20 or 400x - not a continuously variable from 20 to 400. The instructions are rather inadequate, but the performance very good. The flimsy stand lets it down as focussing is critical and difficult to do with the present arrangement.
