For starters I didn't buy the paperback (already got it). I bought the DVD and just like the Stieg Larsson trilogy it had huge chunks missing from it which were essential to the plot. It seems to me that the makers of this film just cherry picked some of the best bits from the book which resulted in the fact that there was no depth or cohesion in the film. I know it's a mistake to read the book first before seeing the film but the book was so good I couldn't resist seeing what the film makers did with it!
